Stepping into China’s ‘parallel universe’

Analysis: I recently returned from the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, where I was a guest of the China Institute of International Strategic Studies.
The forum is a defence and security conference that brings together specialists from about 90 countries to discuss issues ranging from China-US relations and maritime security to emerging technologies and the role of the Global South.
